Please accept our bow, as you step into the Dojo.
You have set aside time, overcome resistance, and navigated logistics in your quest to master your craft.
From here, there are a few additional steps we recommend:
#1 :: SCHEDULE :: If you do nothing else, please review the schedule/call page and add the call(s) to your calendar.
#2 :: BOOKMARK :: Please make sure you bookmark this website in your browser. Then feel free to get cozy and explore by taking a look around! While some resources are available now we may add additional resources over time.
#3 :: PREPARE :: The most successful Samurai prepare before a battle. To support you, we’ve compiled our best tips and practices for showing up powerfully in the Dojo. Read the stratagems when you’re ready. While this information is useful, it’s nothing to get anxious about. We invite you to breathe them in, and let them go knowing you can refer back to them at any point.
#4 :: SET YOUR INTENTION :: Y Combinator is one of the most successful tech accelerators in the world. One thing they’ve discovered is there are two kinds of people who pass through their process.
The first group are the Academics. This group attends all of the classes, checks in at office hours, reads all the materials, and checks off all the boxes. The second group are the Hustlers. This group shows up for the events that call to them, implements what they learn, experiments with their knowledge, and asks for what they want. What the founders of Y Combinator have found is while the Academics learn a lot from the program, it’s the Hustlers who take the risks needed for exponential growth.
So our question for you is: How do you want to show up for the Dojo? What do you want to get from your time here? And what can you do to create the kind of experience you’re longing for?
With deep bows,
Your Welcoming Sensei and Dojo Support Team
